What the news says about this game

Turbo Richard's status is the key story: the IU running back left Friday's win over Northwestern with a right leg injury, but ESPN sources reported 2026-09-26 he likely avoided serious injury and should return soon—his availability for Saturday remains unclear. Indiana also got defensive linemen Stephen Daley and Kellan Wyatt back after a judge granted them eligibility on 2026-09-24. Rutgers looked sharp in a 58-7 victory over Howard, with RB Antwan Raymond rushing for 140 yards and 3 TDs. The human-interest angle is Lonergan and Richard as old Boston College teammates reuniting, but no new game-relevant information.
