What the news says about this game

Notre Dame brings a top-ranked defense executing well and recent offensive firepower (49-10 rout of Purdue, 2026-09-26) into its biggest defensive test against UNC. However, the Irish suffered a major loss when WR Quincy Porter was ruled out for the season on 2026-09-29 for knee surgery. ND's rushing attack has been revamped after last year's NFL departures. The third-ranked Irish defense and CJ Carr's strong recent performance will carry momentum into Chapel Hill.
